COMMENTARY
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The timeline for Neal Brown to show some results on West Virginia’s mountain climb has suddenly and unexpectedly been expedited.
The reality is Brown is doing all the right things to retool West Virginia for the future. But at times, perception is just as important as reality. And after this weekend, every other program in the Big 12’s lower tier has more tangible evidence of progress to point to than the Mountaineers.
West Virginia beat Kansas to avoid sitting in the cellar, but Les Miles has made noteworthy progress with his formerly moribund program.
