It doesn’t seem like Devin Williams can be stopped, thus far in the season. In West Virginia’s 67-59 win over Richmond, Williams had his fifth double-double on the year.
It just so happens the Mountaineers are 5-0.
Williams scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as WVU advanced to the championship game of the Continental Invitational tournament in Las Vegas. The Mountaineers have advanced to Friday night’s final against San Diego State, which topped Cal on Thursday.
Williams’ fifth double-double puts him in good company with WVU basketball legend Rod Thorn. He started the 1960 with five-consecutive double-doubles and ultimately earned a sixth-straight accomplishment that season.
