That was never more evident than last night’s 51-50 slog in the mud against Kansas State, what senior forward Nathan Adrian termed a “hard-nosed win” from a “hard-nosed team.”
In the first half, West Virginia missed shots every conceivable way - short, long, wide left, wide right, off the bank board, sometimes even bouncing over the shot clock … you name it - but the team stuck together, made a few tweaks defensively, quit settling for 3-point jump shots, and, most importantly, kept their focus and never quit fighting until the last second ticked off the clock.
