MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — After climbing three spots to No. 9 in the latest Associated Press poll Sunday, West Virginia achieved its highest ranking since 2012.
The Mountaineers (4-0, 2-0 Big 12) are coming off a 42-34 victory at then-No. 25 Texas Tech, which fell out of the poll. West Virginia joins No. 7 Oklahoma and No. 19 Texas above the Big 12 standings.
The last time Dana Holgorsen’s team was ranked so highly was Oct. 7, 2012, when it reached No. 5.
During 2016, the Mountaineers twice reached No. 10.
West Virginia hosts Kansas this week.
