West Virginia steamrolls LIU for first win of the season

The West Virginia Mountaineers (1-1) may have exorcised some of the demons that lingered after last week’s season-opening loss to Maryland with this evening’s 66-0 win over the LIU Sharks (0-2), but if you were looking to learn anything about this team before next week’s matchup against Virginia Tech you didn’t get any real answers.

LIU won the coin toss and elected to defer, which marked the beginning of the end for the Sharks, as Winston Wright took the opening kickoff 90-yards for the touchdown.

Leddie Brown would go on to add a rushing touchdown on each of the next two West Virginia drives to go up 21-0 with just over two minutes left in the first quarter, effectively sealing the deal for the Mountaineers.
