West Virginia-N.C. State game nixed by Hurricane Florence

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — No. 14 West Virginia won’t play Saturday’s game at N.C. State, according to officials at both schools.

No makeup date was announced and sources say it is unlikely to be rescheduled. Mountaineers coach Dana Holgorsen said Tuesday he’s not in favor of rescheduling if it puts the Mountaineers at a disadvantage for a Big 12 game.

The statement from N.C. State on Tuesday:

NC State will not play its scheduled football game with West Virginia University this weekend due to the increasing likelihood of severe and unsafe conditions associated with Hurricane Florence.
