The West Virginia Mountaineers used a 42-41 victory over the Texas Longhorns to move up 2 spots in the USA Today Coaches Poll all the way to #8. The Mountaineers find themselves inside the top ten for the second time this season. After the Mountaineers jumped out to a 28-0 first quarter lead against the Texas Tech Red Raiders that resulted in a 42-34 victory in Lubbock, the Mountaineers rose to #8. This time, after surviving in Austin and beating both the Longhorns and some very questionable officiating, the Mountaineers are back at #8.
