According to Chris Anderson over at 247Sports.com, West Virginia linebacker Brendan Ferns appears to have suffered a separated shoulder during a kickoff in yesterday’s game against the Kansas Jayhawks. The injury has the potential to end Ferns’ season.
According to Anderson, Ferns suffered the injury on a second quarter kickoff and could be seen on the sidelines with his right arm in a sling.
He was immediately taken back for x-rays, and the initial diagnosis was a complete tear of the AC joint - a severe shoulder separation.
