Wednesday’s West Virginia men’s basketball home opener against Robert Morris has been scratched due to COVID-19 concerns in the Colonels program.
West Virginia announced the cancelation Tuesday night in a one sentence release by the Associate Athletics Director for Communications, Bryan Messerly. Based on the statement from Messerly, it’s unlikely the game will be rescheduled for a later date.
Robert Morris has played just one game this season after having had several other games postponed or canceled due to the COVID-19 issues.
The Mountaineers are 4-1 on the young season, coming off an 80-71 win on Sunday over the Georgetown Hoyas in the Big 12/Big East Battle.
