Chase Illig and Darius Hill each drove in two runs as the Mountaineers (32-21, 12-11) guaranteed themselves no worse than a fourth-place finish in the Big 12. They could still climb into the third spot pending the completion of Oklahoma’s doubleheader against Oklahoma State.

The Longhorns trailed 4-2 in the ninth before Kody Clemens’ two-out RBI single tightened the game.
