MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Within 72 hours of receiving West Virginia’s scholarship offer, Rivals three-star cornerback Chris Hunt committed to the Mountaineers on Sunday, becoming the 14th pledge for 2017.
The senior, who transferred last spring to Bishop Sullivan Catholic High in Virginia Beach, Va., also holds offers from East Carolina and UNC-Charlotte. At 6-foot-1 and 163 pounds he was on the standby lists for programs like Virginia Tech, Duke, Tennessee and North Carolina.
Hunt visited Morgantown for a game in 2015 and he returned in June when his new high school team won the 7-on-7 title at West Virginia’s camp.
