West Virginia coach Bob Huggins breaks down Saturday’s critical matchup against Kansas State at the WVU Coliseum in today’s United Bank Playbook.
The Wildcats defeated the Mountaineers 79-75 in Manhattan back on January 21. All five K-State starters scored double figures and the Wildcats overcame a 12-point first half deficit the first time around.
Guards Jamau Stokes and Barry Brown scored 15 points apiece to lead Kansas State.
The Mountaineers’ defense struggled to get critical stops in the second half and they also turned the ball over a season-high 23 times.
WVU began the game missing its first six shots and then made seven of its next nine to build a 12-point lead, which it enjoyed on three different occasions in the first half.
