The Big 12 Conference has announced that the West Virginia Mountaineers conference opener against the No. 5 Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence will tip off at 4:00PM ET next Saturday, January 4th. The game will also mark the first of five games that will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, which means fans will have to subscribe to the service to view the game.
Obviously, this ESPN+ arrangement isn’t exactly the greatest move for a lot of fans in West Virginia due to poor broadband service throughout most of the state — I’m looking at you, Frontier — but if you do have sufficient high speed internet service, I will say that the ESPN+ subscription really isn’t an awful deal at $4.
