MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Several with current and past ties to the West Virginia University rifle team enjoyed strong showings at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Rio de Janeiro World Cup, April 16-24, at the Olympic Shooting Centre, located inside Deodoro Park, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The second ISSF World Cup stage of the 2016 season, the competition also served as a test event for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.
Freshman Ginny Thrasher, a recent United States Olympic qualifier, finished 10th in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions qualification relay on April 22, shooting 583.
