The Lunch: Sweep for WVU men, women

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Funny thing, that APR. West Virginia gets throttled by Virginia in its first significant test of the nonconference schedule and whips a sub-100 Louisiana-Monroe team, which all serves to lift the Mountaineers’ RPI from No. 60 to No. 51.

And that’s where West Virginia (8-1) resides today, having not yet played a true road game. Next Thursday’s Capital Classic in Charleston counts as another neutral-site game—the team’s fifth his season. In fact, the Mountaineers won’t play on someone else’s court until Dec. 30 at Virginia Tech.

WVU’s nonleague schedule isn’t terribly scary, though don’t forget about that January trip to Gainesville for the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
