MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — You’ve seen his impressive highlights from The Swamp, but the Gold & Blue Lunch Report tells you more about Will Grier and the process that preceded his transfer to West Virginia:
1. He considered junior college after a transfer to other SEC schools was blocked.
Florida coach Jim McElwain followed standard procedure by releasing Grier to any school outside the SEC, while also blocking nonconference rival Florida State and Michigan (which appears on the 2017 schedule).
Because Grier held interest in several SEC programs, he considered detouring to junior college for a year.
