MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Preseason camp may feel long to many players but even coaches are curious how teams will respond to an elongated schedule under this year’s NCAA start date.
Sunday’s first practice occurred exactly five weeks before the Mountaineers’ season opener against Virginia Tech, making for the most stretched-out preseason West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen can recall.
“It’s going to be tough, man. I’ve never had five weeks,” he said. “Last year, we had four (weeks) plus two days and I was like ‘God, I don’t know what I’m going to do with them.
