Texas A&M’s move to the SEC was supposed to unleash the entire conference upon the fertile recruiting grounds of the Lone Star State.
It has in many ways with Alabama, Ole Miss and LSU joining the Aggies among SEC squads that have poached elite talent out of Texas. The Big 12 still lands the bulk of the state’s elite talent, securing 59 signees ranked among the top 30 in Texas by ESPN recruiting analysts since 2012. But the SEC is second with 39, including 14 in the Class of 2015, the first year in which another conference has topped the Big 12 in top-30 signees since Texas A&M’s move.
