ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — St. Albans junior pitcher Jake Carr left the WVU prospect showcase this past weekend with an offer firmly in-hand from the Mountaineers – and it didn’t take long for the young left-hander to jump on the opportunity.
“They told me that they wanted me to be a Mountaineer, but it didn’t really hit me until I left that night,” Carr said. “‘Man, West Virginia just offered me.’ I kept in touch with them and committed (Monday).
“I didn’t expect to get the offer (that weekend), I was just wanting to go up there and show what I had,” he continued.
