MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — From controlling clock at Texas A&M to making every drive a meteor shower at Cal, Jake Spavital has played the tempo game at the extremes.
Expect his West Virginia offense to mix West Coast zip with SEC ruggedness, in a variation that could swing from series to series.
“We’ve got a lot of multiple body-types, which is interesting,” Spavital said Monday, hours before the Mountaineers donned shorts and helmets for preseason practice No. 2.
“It’s been the most multiple group I’ve ever been a part of — with tight ends, fullbacks, running backs, slot receivers, big slot receivers, and big and small outside guys.
