Sooners take doubleheader to sweep series

NORMAN, Okla. — Kyler Murray walked and scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, lifting Oklahoma to a 2-1 win over West Virginia and a sweep of their three-game series Saturday night.

The Mountaineers (9-12, 0-3 Big 12) suffered their first weekend series sweep since March 2016.

The Sooners (17-9, 3-0) won Friday’s opener 19-6 and the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader 10-2.

Brandon White’s RBI single tiedthe nightcap at 1-1 in the top of the sixth.

But starter Kade Strowd (2-3) opened the bottom half of the inning by starting Murray with a 2-0 count.
