MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Even with one game remaining this season, some West Virginia players and their coaches have an eye on the future beyond their Jan. 2 meeting against Arizona State in the Cactus Bowl — namely, a potential future that involves the NFL.
At some point soon, Mountaineers coach Dana Holgorsen will submit paperwork for a handful of underclassmen to the NFL draft advisory board. That process, however, comes with some strong words.
“Every kid wants to know their draft status,” Holgorsen said. “I have bad news for a lot of these guys. They are not going to get drafted, so they have to stay in school, play their tail off and enjoy their college experience.
