MORGANTOWN, W.Va – Junior Habiba Shaker and freshman Christina Jordan fell in singles and doubles play on day one of the 2016 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships, in Pacific Palisades, California, on October 1.
Shaker opened up the All-American Championships with a win in the first round of the pre-qualifiers. After falling in the first set 4-6, Shaker rallied to defeat Wake Forest’s Anna Ulyashchenko in three sets 4-6, 6-1, and 6-0.
In the second round, Shaker took on Petra Melounova of Hawaii-Manoa, where she fell in a closely contested match, 6-7 (4) and 5-7.
