MORGANTOWN, W.Va – West Virginia University junior tennis player Habiba Shaker fell in the second round of the singles main draw at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships on Sunday in Norfolk, Virginia.
Virginia’s Rosie Johanson bested Shaker in two sets, 6-2 and 6-1, at the indoor courts of the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
“We had a solid tournament facing good competition,” fourth-year coach Miha Lisac said. “It gives us a good sense of direction of what we have accomplished this fall and what we have to work on this spring.”
WVU was able to win three singles events at the three-day tournament.
