MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Tennessee basketball coach Rick Barnes said West Virginia or Kansas will visit Knoxville as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge next season.
The Mountaineers have played at home during the past two Challenges, hosting Texas A&M in 2017 and then Kentucky last January, so a road game was anticipated.
The series seeks compelling matchups by pairing teams on equal footing within their respective conferences. The Vols are expected to be a top-10 team next season, while West Virginia is awaiting an NBA draft decision by Sagaba Konate that could elevate its profile.
