MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following her silver-medal performance in the 1,500-meter run at the 2016 Big 12 Outdoor Championship, sophomore Millie Paladino of the West Virginia University track and field team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
At the three-day conference championship, Paladino qualified for the finals in the 1,500-meter after winning her prelim on May 14 with a career-best time of 4:41.09, the fifth-fastest time in WVU outdoor history. She improved 0.26 seconds from her previous best time, set in the 2015 outdoor season.
The Morgantown, West Virginia, native, won a silver medal in the finals on May 15, after crossing the finish line in second place with a time of 4:22.
