MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – No. 5 Texas ended a three-year jinx at the WVU Coliseum by holding West Virginia to 30-percent shooting and a season-low output in a 65-54 win Wednesday night in front of 4,153 fans.
Texas guard Ariel Atkins scored a game-high 18 points and center Imani Boyetteturned in her fifth double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for the Longhorns (12-0, 1-0), who opened the game with a 10-0 run and never trailed.
Freshman Tynice Martin scored 15 to lead West Virginia (11-3, 0-1), which had an eight-game winning streak snapped.
