MORGANTOWN. W. Va. – No. 7 Jacob A. Smith earned a win at 197 pounds as the No. 24 West Virginia University Wrestling team suffered a 38-3 loss to No. 5 Oklahoma State in Big 12 action on Friday evening at the WVU Coliseum.
It was the first Big 12 dual of the season for the Mountaineers (5-3). The squad will host league foe and No. 9-ranked Oklahoma on Sunday as part of Beauty and The Beast in a 4 p.m. event at the Coliseum.
“We have to go back to the drawing board to see what went wrong and go from there,” said WVU coach Sammie Henson.
