No. 2 Mountaineers Smoother Kansas

LAWRENCE, KANSAS – The No. 2-ranked West Virginia University women’s soccer team looked absolutely dominant in a low-scoring outing at Kansas tonight, controlling possession for the majority of the match and earning a 1-0 victory at Rock Chalk Park.

The victory pushes the Mountaineers’ win streak to four and halts the Jayhawks’ unbeaten streak at the same mark. WVU (11-1-1, 3-0) improves to 6-0 all-time against KU (8-4-2, 3-1).

With the win, WVU is now the lone unbeaten team remaining in the Big 12 Conference. The victory was the Mountaineers’ 30th in Big 12 play; the squad shows a 30-1-3 all-time record.
