MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Jad Arslan continued his blistering start with two more goals and No. 19 West Virginia handled Wright State 4-1 on Friday night in their men’s soccer home opener.
The Mountaineers (3-0) recorded a season-high 16 shots while holding the Raiders (1-1) to nine.
With four goals to open his senior season, Arslanis on an early tear. His first score made it a 2-0 in the 10th minute as he dribbled through the defense, to the edge of the 18 and buried a long shot into the upper corner.
Arslan added an insurance goal in the 87th minute, receiving a long pass from Jorge Quintanilla 25 yards out and beating the WSU goalkeeper into the upper left corner.
