MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — No. 11 Duke capitalized on its chances and put away No. 3 West Virginia 4-0 on Friday night, dealing the Mountaineers their worst loss ever at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
WVU (4-2), which had gone more than three years and 43 matches without losing a home match in regulation, yield two first-half scores before Blue Devils forward Kayla McKoy tacked on back-to-back goals in the 52nd and 62nd minutes.
“If you’ve been around the game long enough, you know that soccer can be a cruel, cruel game,” said Mountaineers coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said.
