MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former West Virginia University soccer standout Dan Stratford returned to his alma mater in January and as with most new coaches, his first preseason workouts would prove critical to the development of his program.
Stratford is the only new head coach this year at WVU and his window to work with his team in-person lasted just six weeks. The COVID-19 pandemic shut down all games and practices on March 12. The Mountaineers played just one of their scheduled five matches in the spring.
“We came in with intentions of having a real progressive spring in terms of working with the current roster,” Stratford said.
