MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Last fall, the Mountaineers suffered four double-digit losses in Big 12 play. This season, West Virginia’s 4-3 mark is only a game better than their 2019 pace but when comparing results, head coach Neal Brown believes that the ‘2.0 version’ of Mountaineer football is well ahead of this time last November.
“We made a lot of progress over the last year,” Brown said. “We really weren’t in the game against Texas a year ago past about the midway point of the third quarter. We were right there with multiple opportunities to win the game.
