MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former WVU defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel has been elevated from analyst to position coach in a defensive staff shuffle caused by the departure of Vic Koenning last week.

Casteel returned to WVU in March as a defensive analyst but he will now coach the outside linebackers. The Paden City native was part of Rich Rodriguez’s initial coaching staff in Morgantown and he remained on staff through Dana Holgorsen’s first season in 2011. Casteel has coached for 33 seasons, 27 as a defensive coordinator.
