West Virginia, the Big 12 Conference runners-up, are a No. 4 seed in the West region of the 2017 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Mountaineers will square off with Bucknell on Thurday, March 16 in Buffalo, NY. Tip off for that game has not been announced at this time. The Bison finished the season with a 26-8 (15-3 conference) record and won the Patriot League championship.
If the Mountaineers make it past the Bison, they will take on former Big East foe Notre Dame or the Ivy League champion Princeton Tigers. Possible Sweet Sixteen matchups include Gonzaga, Northwestern and Vanderbilt.
