MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University sophomore pitcher BJ Myers has been named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Myers pitched eight shutout innings in WVU’s 3-0 win at Charleston Southern on Sunday. The victory for the right-hander helped the Mountaineers to a season-opening series win in Charleston, South Carolina.
Myers, a Flower Mound, Texas, native, pitched eight innings and allowed no runs on five hits. He struck out five and walked just one. CSU hit into three double plays as Myers faced 26 batters, just two over the minimum in his eight innings.
