Mountaineers take Longhorns to the Slaughterhouse, beating Texas 97-59

Saturday was a dark day in for West Virginia and their fans. After a sooner-than-expected return to the national conversation and a return to defensive pride, the Mountaineers were ranked number 12 and got walloped by an inferior Kansas State team.

Fans were left wondering if this was the beginning of a return to earth for this team.

On a 51-hour turnaround, the Mountaineers welcomed Texas to the Coliseum to prove what Bob Huggins’ team was made of this season.

West Virginia showed that one bad loss wasn’t going to keep them down, jumping all over the Longhorns from the tip.
