MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Unable to overcome an Oklahoma offense hitting .326, the West Virginia University volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback to the Sooners in Big 12 play on Friday evening at the WVU Coliseum. The Sooners took the match in set scores of 25-19, 26-24 and 25-16.
“We were flat,” said WVU coach Reed Sunahara. “Give credit to Oklahoma. They’re a good team. They’ve been to NCAA Tournaments. They wanted it more than we did. It’s disappointing, the way we played. Hopefully, we’re better tomorrow.”
With the Mountaineer offense limited to hitting .113, Payton Caffrey had a team-high 12 kills.
