LUBBOCK, Texas – The West Virginia University women’s basketball team used a strong 24-4 first quarter performance to collect the regular-season series sweep over Texas Tech with a 69-42 victory on Tuesday evening at the United Supermarkets Arena.
WVU (17-6, 6-4 Big 12) limited Texas Tech to four points in the first quarter – the lowest of the season since Delaware State tallied four points in a quarter on Nov. 17. However, TTU (11-11, 2-9) fought back to trim the game to nine points with 2:32 remaining in the second quarter. WVU was able to push the advantage to 31-17 at the half.
