WVU was ranked in the top five of the poll each week since Sept. 22, and within the top 10 each week since Sept. 8. The Mountaineers reached as high as a program-best No. 2 on Oct. 27 and held the position for two weeks. The squad sat at No. 4 in the final poll of the regular season.
Today’s final ranking is eight spots better than the team’s No. 15 ranking in the final poll of 2014.
