Mountaineers open must-win series with comeback win over K-State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — It wasn’t the prettiest first inning for West Virginia pitcher BJ Myers against Kansas State on Friday night.

Returning to the rotation for his first start in over a month, Myers miscommunicated with first baseman Marques Inman on a grounder. Then Myers threw away a pick-off attempt and gave up an RBI single as the Mountaineers trailed by two runs.

Myers gave up five runs over six innings but West Virginia got him off the hook by rallying for an 8-5 win over K-State at Monongalia County Ballpark.
