The Mountaineers (12-8, 2-1) hold steady despite boosting their regional qualifying score (RQS) to 195.92 following a season-best road score in a 197.6-196.1 loss at then-No. 3 Florida on March 10.
An RQS is calculated by taking a squad’s six highest scores, three of which must be from road meets, dropping the top score and averaging the remaining five. Teams and individual gymnasts who have not yet competed in enough meets/routines to compute an RQS are not ranked this week. The top-36 ranked schools as of March 20 will qualify for the 2017 NCAA Regional Championships.
According to the Road to Nationals site, the Mountaineers are a mathematical lock for the 2017 NCAA Regional Championships.
