MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University finished 45th in the final Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings, matching the fourth-best finish in school history.
WVU’s 45th-place finish is 15 spots higher than last year’s 60th-place finish and is its best finish since a 45th-place finish in 2012. WVU posted a school-best 30th-place finish in 2009.
West Virginia accumulated 514.50 points, ranking fifth among Big 12 schools. Texas led all Big 12 schools with a seventh-place finish. Oklahoma (17th), Baylor (24th), Oklahoma State (27th), Kansas (57th), Iowa State (59th), TCU (60th), Texas Tech (65th) and Kansas State (66th) rounded out the finishes for Big 12 schools.
