Mountaineers fall one spot in AP Poll, maintain position in Coaches Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A chaotic week in college basketball has resulted in West Virginia largely standing pat despite a midweek loss at Texas Tech.

The Mountaineers (17-4, 5-3 Big 12) were docked one spot in the AP Top 25, dropping to No. 13. West Virginia was displaced by Auburn (19-2), which rocketed all the way up from 17th to 11th following wins over Ole Miss and Kentucky.

In the USA Today Coaches Top 25, the Mountaineers held their ground as the 11th team in the country.

West Virginia continues to maintain its position in the NCAA’s NET rankings as well.
