Sophomore Meghan Jean-Baptiste started off competition, as she competed in the pentathlon – 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800 meters. Baptiste scored a total of 3,264 in the five-event pentathlon.
Baptiste’s first event was the 60-meter hurdles, where she leaped a season-best time of 8.81 to place sixth. In the second event, she placed eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters. Baptiste participated in the third event, where she finished 13th with 7.43 meters in shot put. She placed 11th in the long jump, jumping 5.35 meters. In the final 800-meter event, Baptiste finished in 11th with a time of 2:41.
