MORGANTOWN — No. 6 West Virginia’s bench has outscored the opposition’s 15 times this season, and the Mountaineers are 13-2 when that happens. It’s an illustration of the team’s success, the essence of what it does by rolling in waves of fresh players to wear down opponents.

That energy is supposed to invigorate the defense, and it’s done that, but it’s also powered the offense.

“Our coach preaches we might have the best 10 or 12 guys in the country,” WVU starting forward Jon Holton said. “We don’t have the best starting five, but if you put all of our guys together, we’ll take our team to come out on top.
