MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University swimming and diving team won two silver medals and a bronze medal on the first day of the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championship on Wednesday, in Austin, Texas.
On the first day of competition, the Mountaineers posted top-three finishes in three of the five events. WVU won silver medals in the men’s 200 medley relay and the men’s 800 freestyle relay. Diver Michael Proietto added a bronze-medal finish on the 1-meter springboard.
Through the first day of competition, the WVU men sit in first place with 130 points.
