McNeil Concludes WVU’s 2017 Campaign

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior Shamoya McNeil of the West Virginia University track and field team competed in the women’s triple jump finals at the 2017 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, in Eugene, Oregon, at Hayward Field.

McNeil, a native of Portland, Jamaica, placed 22nd in the triple jump finals with a mark of 12.70 meters (41’-8”), while earning All-American Third Team honors. McNeil is WVU’s final competitor of the weekend.

On Thursday, senior Amy Cashin opened up competition in the women’s semifinals 3,000-meter steeplechase. The Werribee, Australia, native fell short of qualifying for Saturday’s finals, as she placed 19th with a time of 10:11.
