MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - For a second consecutive week, West Virginia University women’s basketball guard Tynice Martin was named Big 12 co-Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Martin averaged 15.0 points and 1.5 assists for West Virginia in its loss at No. 6 Baylor and win over Kansas. The Atlanta native tallied 14 points, while grabbing a rebound at Baylor. Martin followed with a season high and game-leading 18 points against Kansas. The freshman knocked down 8-of-12 field goals, while dishing out two assists and collecting two steals. Martin is third on the team in scoring with an average of 9.
