AUSTIN, Texas — Kacy Clemens started senior day by launching a grand slam and Texas knocked out West Virginia freshman Kade Strowd in the first inning of Sunday’s 9-4 win during the regular-season finale.
“Special place in my heart for UT. We might not ever play here again, but it’s been fun,” Clemens said.
“This game was about gritting it out against a good team and finding a way to win this series no matter what. As far as confidence goes, we feel good. We’re ready to rock.”
Jackson Cramer homered twice for the Mountaineers (32-22, 12-12), who stranded nine runners and missed a chance to climb over Oklahoma into third place in the Big 12 standings.
